- What are the entry procedures?
To ensure your participation on ride day, please enter before the close of the online registration system.
Entry options:
- Enter online at b2gc.bq.org.au/enter (closes midnight, Monday 3 October, 2011)
- Fill out an Entry Form and post to: PO Box 5957, West End Qld 4101 (must be received by 5pm, Monday 3 October, 2011)
- Enter in person at the Bicycle Queensland Office, 28 Vulture Street, West End (close 5pm, Monday 3 October, 2011)

- Online Entries close at midnight on Monday 3 October 2011. Written entries must be received by 5pm on Monday 3 October 2011. An 80% refund will apply to full or partial cancellations received in writing (email or fax acceptable) at the office of Bicycle Queensland by 5pm Monday 3 October 2011. No refunds will be given after this time and no alterations will be permitted. Any additions or alterations after the first selection will attract a $10 processing fee per occasion.
- No refund will apply to pre-paid Team entries.
- There are no entries on the day.
- The Event involves riding on public roads used by other traffic and thousands of other cyclists in close proximity.
- The Event is not a race and roads used will not be closed to traffic. Road rules apply.
- You must ride in a safe, responsible and courteous manner and use common sense at all times.
- The Event will proceed in poor weather.
- You must be of sufficient riding competence and have your bike in sound mechanical condition.
- You must be able to maintain a minimum average speed of 17km per hour.
- On the Busway you must enter from The Event start and cannot enter from one of the stations. Access is restricted to event participants and only during the special closure for The Event. You must not ride against the flow or in the north bound lane unless directed to do so by Police or Traffic Management.
- Event identification must be worn with bike bibs fully visible from the front.
- Private support vehicles are not permitted.
- Children under 14 must not pilot their own bike on The Event. Riding on a tandem rear, tagalong, trailer or child seat is permitted.
- Children under 16 at the time of The Event must be accompanied by an adult.
- Persons under 18 require consent to participate.
- Children not pedalling do not need to enter or pay a fee but will not receive a rider kit or merchandise.
- Communications will principally be via email.
- It is the riders’ responsibility to read all the information sent.
- Only standard human powered or electric power assisted bicycles, unicycles or tricycles are permitted.
- Animals are not permitted.
Risk Acknowledgment
- The Participant acknowledges and understands that cycling activities are dangerous recreational activities and that by participating in them they are exposed to certain risks including injury, death and damage to their property, including as a result of the negligence or breach of contract of The Organisers.

- Can I enter now and pay later?
Payment is compulsory when entering. Entries without payment will not be accepted.
- Are there any refunds?
Unless noted otherwise an 80% refund will apply to full or partial cancellations received in writing (email or fax acceptable) at the office of Bicycle Queensland by 5pm on Monday 3 October, 2011. Entry kits received before this date must be returned to Bicycle Queensland before the event in order to receive the refund. No refunds will be given after this time and no alterations will be permitted. There are no refunds for non starters or non finishers. N.B. When a participant registers online or via postal entry form, they accept the terms and conditions of entry.
- Can I transfer my entry?
Entries can not be transferred from one entrant to another.
- What is in the Rider Kit and how do I collect it?
The rider kit contains your bike bib, wristband, twist ties and rider information guide.
Each entrant who enters by Thursday 29 September 2011 will automatically be sent their rider kit in the mail. Entries received after Thursday 29 September 2011 must be collected in person from the Bicycle Queensland office (28 Vulture Street, West End Q 4101) between 9am-4pm on Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 or Friday 7 October or on the event morning from 4am at South Bank.
If you enter in time to receive your kit in the mail, it should arrive to you by Thursday 6 October. If you do not receive your kit by this date please contact the Bicycle Queensland office on 07 3844 1144 to arrange a new kit. For information on entry fees, click here.
- Are their age restrictions?
Children under 14 are not to pilot their own bike on the event. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied on the event at all times by an adult.
- Does everyone have to enter?
Anyone pedalling is required to enter separately into the event and have their own rider bib/number; this includes anyone on a tandem rear and tagalong bike. Children under 5 years old not pedalling do not need to enter, however will not receive food or merchandise.
- Is there a limit to the number of entries?
Yes! The limit is determined by how many riders we can safely pass through the Busway within the time limit allowed. Participation has grown by an average of 2000 per year. It's highly likely the event will reach maximum capacity soon.
- How do I order ride merchandise?
SCODY are again the offical clothing suppliers of the Wilson HTM Brisbane to the Gold Coast Cycle Challenge. Orders can be made at the same time as entering the event (until 23 August) or separately through the SCODY Website thereafter. Merchandise purchased online will be mailed out and arrive the week prior to the event.
